Automation on track & object level

Of course, all kinds of track automation are possible in Samplitude Pro X. No matter whether touch, latch, trim, or overwrite; all of the parameters of plug-ins or the track may be automated as needed. The curves themselves may be drawn in in detail and conveniently defined via handle points.

In Samplitude Pro X every object can be adjusted with an entirely separate automation. This can also be done without any annoying menus, simply by using the mouse handles. What's more, you can also add another object automation for another parameter on a track that already features automation at the track level. To make sure everything stays clearly laid-out and easy to use, you can select between the track and object automation display directly in the track editor beside the track at any time.

The special feature of object automation is that effects and automation are connected directly with the object. That means that the objects and their automations may be moved or split however you like; the data remains connected to the object at all times. Since the object processing is present prior to the track processing in the signal flow, object automation is still able to be edited creatively with the following track automation.

Revolver tracks

The revolver tracks system is a type of rotation that may be used to replace various takes from a complete track behind the defined effects, fades and track options. You can also compile objects differently for each individual track in this way. Different solos and parts may be easily switched back and forth in context, or exchanged and tested against each other in their effect in the final mix, without making any other changes in the arrangement.

You may choose at any time if you would like to add a revolver track as a copy (e.g. for variation of effects or fades),or if you would like to create a new, empty revolver track. The time the respective variation was added to the original track is also displayed. The revolver tracks created can be displayed at any time in the Take Composer in a a clearly laid-out manner.

Freeze

To make it easier to finish complicated arrangements on less powerful computers you can
"freeze" aux and submix bus effects and the effects, plug-ins and automations on complete tracks.
This creates a single audio track. So you could, for example, freeze VST instruments and edit the arrangement on a system, that doesn't use this plug-in.

Thanks to the unique object editing in Samplitude Pro X, you can freeze individual objects while other objects on the same track stay unfrozen. Of course, all tracks, instruments, or objects may be "thawed out" at any time and edited as usual.

Economy track

Tracks can be converted into so-called "economy tracks" at any time. The effect will then be left out of input monitoring, which reduces system load in the playback engine via a larger object buffer size. If a track of this type is muted, then it won't use any performance at all for effects calculation.

Remix Agent

The Remix agent is a powerful tool for determining the BPMs (beats per minute) and the time position of quarter note beats of any song. This is important, for example, when a track on an audio CD has been imported into Samplitude Pro X and other sounds like drum loops, effects, or synthesizer voices are to be mixed in.
So, for example, you can create a tempo map for a song that features fluctuating timing and then synchronize this with the audio via MIDI.
